Righchus Confirms Black Cradle Release Date

Do to a lot of changes in Righchus career the mixtape that was originally slated to be released back in October has finally got a date. Righchus annouced today that the Black Cradle mixtape will be released on July 25th 2012. Hit the jump to read the whole statement from Righchus:

It has been a year and a half since the release of Sweetgrass & Supras, and Charleston-based hip-hop artist, Righchus, is pleased to confirm that his new project, Black Cradles, will be released on Wednesday, July 25 as a free mixtape download at Datpiff.com.

Black Cradles, the Charleston rapper’s 3rd LP, was originally scheduled for release following the Righchus Renaissance in October 2011. However, due to changes in management, added features and new material, there was a delay in the production, much to the dismay of Righchus fans.

“I apologize for the wait,” said Righchus. “I had to be sure that the album was up to par before releasing it.”

Despite the delay, he maintained his relationship with fans and gave them frequent updates about Black Cradles via social media.

While in production, Righchus came across an anonymous author who examined how hip-hop music has made an impact on today’s youth. According to the author, hip-hop is “conceiving and birthing children of black cradles who will not develop an ear for good music, but an ear only for music that they can literally rock to.”

“I want to lyrically speak to this new generation of hip-hop rocking in black cradles…hence the title of this project,” Righchus added.

The Clams Casino produced first single, “Still Ridin,” has already created a buzz for the upcoming release. The “Still Ridin” official video, directed by 5 Dollaz, has also reached over one thousand views on YouTube and has been featured on numerous hip-hop websites, including DJBooth.net and PremiereHipHop.com.

“I am thrilled to know that my fans are checking for Black Cradles,” said Righchus. “Hopefully they won’t be disappointed.”

“Still Ridin” will be one of the 13-tracks on Black Cradles, along with “Mussolini” and “Strokers Row,” tracks crafted by executive producer, Benjamin “Max” Berry. Contributing producers include DJ Cas, Mykal Star, Clams Casino, Johnny Juliano and Sam King, with artist features by Benjamin Starr, Ben Fagan, Kodak, aColorWar, Lexa L’Terra and Harlem-based rapper, Vinny Cha$e.

“Righchus took his time and really put together a complete project,” said Righchus’ manager, Randy Roper. “I think a lot of people will be impressed when they finally hear it. Black Cradles is definitely his best work to date”
