Musically Trapped N Thought: Spotlight Is On

Whats up people this is my first artist spotlight of the month and for the Month of February I'm going to spotlight Pennjamin Bannekar. Penn got his inspiration top start rapping from hearing Puff Daddy's music he was pretty much like if this weak dude can do it I know I can. Penn brings a different aspect to the rap game he doesn't just rap to be rapping he actually takes time to write his lyrics down and intricately pieces songs together. He was once part of super group Project Fresh who put out an album entitled The Get Fr3sh Show which was a Chicago classic he once said " Seeing the album I put so much time and effort into wrapped in that plastic with the bar code is one of the best feelings he's ever had!" He says "artist don't sell yourself short by not going through the correct process of giving your album that special treatment that it deserves after you work so hard on your project." Even though PF3 isnt actually making music together as a group the still communicate with each other an work to together on certain projects.

In the mean time in between time Penn has embarked on his solo career and he has already put out an mixtape entitled "Hello World' which is basically introducing the solo artist Pennjamin Bannaker to the world. He said " one difference between being a solo artist and being in a group is that you now go from writing one verse in a song to writing three verses and a hook and you don't have those group members to bounce those ideas off of during the creative process." Penn has garnered a lot of praise from fellow artist such Nikki Lynette said "Penn really puts a great show" when she seen him open up at the Shrine in Chicago for Dwele. Penn has also been featured on the "Hotter Than July Mixtape" which is a mixtape put together by super producer ILL Brown and sponsored by WBC Magazine he was on a song with JapCity entitled "Tape Rock" which featured a sample from the Notorious B.I.G.

Earlier this year Penn shot his first visual for his single ILLWrite which is a song that gives you his views on the illuminate and it also attacks the perception that people don't want to be great anymore and how a lot of folks are satisfied with just being average. Penn is currently in the studio working on his first solo album entitled "Heart Beat" which is scheduled to release this spring. As of right now Penn is touring the US and rocking shows gaining fans everywhere he performs. If you ask me Penn is definitely one of the nicest MC's in Chicago and if you give his music a chance I guarantee u will believe the same.
