TUGREYT (pronounced too great) is a Chicago-based emcee duo comprised of artists, Amplified and D.Adduci. TUGREYT is not just a name the two go by, but rather an acronym standing for The Unbridled Gift of Rhyme Engaging Your Thoughts. A disposition maintained to touch people through words and bridge a lasting connection. Their forthcoming album, entitled The Blind Voice, is a concept project which builds awareness and takes an introspective look on a variety of life’s struggles, stemming a balance between sharp reality and invigorated hope. The Blind Voice is representative of every person who seemingly goes unheard or unnoticed in everyday life; people who have vision, but can’t make reality out of their dreams. In essence, blind by their own ambitions and trapped within their voice. TUGREYT’s goal is not only to connect with regular, real people, but be the voice for those who lack one. The origins behind the album name also possess dual meaning from their perspective as artists. Nowadays, the music industry tends to gravitate towards image rather than the words being said or the message conveyed. If you lack the ideal image, your voice goes unheard.
